Norfolk Young Farmers and Countrysiders
We care deeply about environmental and rural education which safeguards the future of farming and our countryside. That’s why we’ve continuously supported the excellent youth organisations of Norfolk Young Farmers and Countrysiders Clubs. Both organisations, with a total of over 400 members, bring young people together to learn new skills, work with their local communities, take part in a variety of competitions and enjoy a great social life.
In Norfolk there are 11 Young Farmers’ Clubs for 16 - 25 years olds and the 15 Countrysiders Clubs for 10 -16 year olds .

YANA
We believe that good mental health awareness is essential for those in farming and rural industries. Clan Trust set up The YANA Project in 2008 specifically to provide confidential support, mental health awareness and funding for counselling to those in farming and rural communities in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridge. The Project has now developed into a charity of it’s own, named YANA, and is independent from the Clan Trust.
1 in 5 people in the UK will experience depression at some point in their life, but those in farming are particularly susceptible to stress, anxiety, depression and, tragically, suicide.
With a presence at every farming and rural event in Norfolk and Suffolk throughout the year, YANA also has a confidential helpline and can put callers in touch with a doctor or counsellor within a few days and can fund up to 9 sessions of counselling with a professionally accredited counsellor.
The informative YANA website gives details of signs and symptoms of depression and stress and action to take for yourself or if you are concerned about someone.

Food and Farming Discovery Trust
Part of our mission is to support young people in agriculture and increase students’ understanding of food, farming, and the countryside. To fulfil this area of support, the Clan Trust works closely with the Food and Farming Discovery Trust (FFDT) across a range of projects to provide educational activities linked to agriculture to schools across Norfolk.
As well as financially supporting the educational zones at the Royal Norfolk Show in partnership with FFDT, the Clan Trust is delighted to sponsor their #LearnAboutLivestock project, which is aimed at children ranging from Early Years to Sixth Form.
Learn About Livestock gives pupils a unique hands-on experience looking after ewes and lambs, and strengthens connections between schools and local farms.
Further information on the Learn About Livestock project and the activities undertaken by the FFDT, can be found on their website:
